香港にある高層マンションで火災が発生し、まだ数多くの人々が行方不明となっている。

56人が負傷、279人が行方不明

その火災が発生したのは11月26日の午後、場所は香港北部の新界地区にある高層マンションとされている。

香港メディアによると、隣接する住宅7棟に延焼し、少なくとも44人が死亡、56人が負傷したという。

また279人が依然として行方不明となっており、消防隊と救助隊が一部の建物で捜索を開始しているそうだ

27日の朝の時点で、4棟で火が収まり、3棟で消火活動が続けられている。

改修工事中に火災が発生

当時、これらの建物では改修工事が行われていたとされ、建物の外装に使用されていた資材や、竹製の足場が火災の原因だと考えられているという。

また警察は、建物の窓の密閉などに使用された発泡材が、炎の急速な延焼につながった可能性を排除していないそうだ。

さらに建物の外壁に設置された保護ネットや防水シート、プラスチックシートが防火基準を満たしていなかったとも指摘されている。

香港警察は27日、改修工事を請け負った建設会社の取締役2人とコンサルタント1人を、過失致死の疑いで逮捕したという。

在香港日本総領事館の発表では、26日夜の時点で日本人の被害は確認されていない。

この集合住宅は8棟あり、1983年に作られ、合計で2千戸近い住宅が入っていたそうだ。（了）
