先日、月面への着陸に成功したアメリカ企業の着陸機が、「皆既日食」の様子を撮影した。

「ブルーゴースト」が撮影

その着陸機とは、米民間企業「ファイアフライ・エアロスペース」が打ち上げ、3月2日に月面着陸に成功した「ブルーゴースト」だ。

地球では3月14日の16時ごろ（日本時間）、月が地球の影に入る「皆既月食」となったが、同時に月では、太陽を地球が遮る「皆既日食」が起きたという。

そして「ブルーゴースト」が、月面から「皆既日食」の様子を撮影。シェアされた動画には、遠く離れた太陽が、地球にゆっくりと隠され、明るい「リング」だけが残る瞬間が映っていた。

月での日食の観測は初めてではない

3月14日の「月食」は約1時間続き、地球からは月が赤く染まったように見えたという。

一方、「ブルーゴースト」から見た「皆既日食」では、地球の周囲に、太陽のコロナの姿が映っていたそうだ。

このような映像は非常に稀だが、実は月から「皆既日食」が観測されたのは、今回が初めてではない。

NASAの月探査機「サーベイヤー3号」は、1967年に月面でこのような日食を記録したという。（了）
