ニューヨークで珍しく地震の揺れ、人々がさまざまな反応を示す

アメリカ東部で4月5日、珍しく地震が起き、ニューヨークでも揺れが感じられたという。

震源地はニュージャージー州

この地震の震源は、ニュージャージー州の町、レバノンとされ、地震の規模はマグニチュード4.8だった。

地震は現地時間の午前10時23分に発生しており、揺れはマサチューセッツ州のボストンや、ペンシルベニア州のフィラデルフィアまで感じられたそうだ。

ニューヨークでも、人々の携帯電話に緊急警報が送信され、住民に対し屋内に留まり、負傷した場合は911に通報するよう求められたという。

しかし現時点で、地震による負傷者など、重大な影響が出ているとの報告はない。地震の様子がこちら。

「神からのしるし」「悔い改め」

地震はあまり大きく揺れなかったようだが、皆既日食も近づいていることから、「悔い改め」を求める声や、地震が「神からのサイン」であるといった主張が、ネットに寄せられたという。

トランプ前大統領の支持者で、キリスト教ナショナリズムを掲げる共和党のマージョリー・テイラー・グリーン下院議員は、「X」において「神は、アメリカに悔い改めを促す、強力なサインを送っている」と投稿している。

またニューヨークでは、地震に驚いたアパートの住民らが混乱し、大きな声で話す様子も撮影された。住民らは「床がちょうど揺れ始めた！」「地震かと思った！」「俺も」と話していたという。
