高い木に取り残されたネコを救う、スペシャリストの動画が公開されている。

木の上で6日間も過ごしていたネコ

そのスペシャリストとは、アメリカ人の男性、デュアン・フックさんだ。彼は個人のウェブサイトを通じて、ネコの救助サービスを提供しているという。

そして先日、オハイオ州の町、マウント・バーノンでネコが高い木の上に取り残され、6日間も過ごしているとの通報を受け取ったそうだ。

そこでフックさんは仕事を早退し、1時間半かけて、マウント・バーノンの町に到着。通報があった場所へ向かい、実際にネコを救助した。その様子がこちら。

これまでも救助活動が行われたが…

フックさんによれば、それまで5日間も地元の人々が力を合わせて、ネコを救おうと試みたが、結局ネコは怖がり、木の高い場所へ登ってしまったという。

フックさんも木に登ってから30分間近く、ネコをなだめたが、結局近くに寄ってくることはなかったそうだ。

そこで彼は、「スネアポール」という道具を使うことを決断。その結果、見事枝先にいたネコを保護することに成功した。

フックさんによれば、「スネアポール」は暴力的に見えるため、使うのはあまり好きではないのだが、この時は最後の手段だったという。

保護されたネコは獣医師の診断の結果、ネコ白血病ウイルスに感染していると判明したが、地元の住民らは熱心に飼い主を探しているそうだ。（了）
