監禁事件を解決に導いたファンが、テイラー・Sのコンサートに招かれ記念撮影

先日、政治的な立場を明らかにし、民主党候補への支持を表明したテイラー・スウィフトさん。実は彼女は、ある事件を通報した男性ファンとも会ったとして、話題を集めている。

 

ピザの配達をしていたファンの男性

 

そのファンとはアメリカのウィスコンシン州、Waldoという町でドミノピザの配達員をしていたJoseph Grundさん（24）。

 

彼は今月初め、ある家にピザを届けに行った際、何か異変を感じ取ったという。

 

呼び鈴を押した後、家の玄関には40代から50代ほどの男が出てきたが、その背後には同じ年代の女性もおり、なぜか目の周りには黒いあざがあったそうだ。

 

女性が口を動かし「助けて」

 

Grundさんは男にピザを手渡すが、その時背後にいた女性が「助けて」と口を動かした。

 

さらに男がお金を取りにその場から離れると、再び女性が「警察を呼んで」と口だけを動かしたという。

 

その後、Grundさんは店舗に戻り、すぐに911に通報。警察が現場に急行して調べた結果、その家では男が女性を監禁し、家から出られないようしていたことが明らかとなる。

 

この結果、Dean Hoffmanと名乗る男は、不法監禁や暴行、脅迫、不法侵入の容疑で逮捕されたという。

 

きっかけはテイラーのパーカー

 

事件後、Grundさんはヒーローとして讃えられ、一躍注目を浴び、テレビのインタビューにも応じたとか。

 

その際、彼はテイラーさんのパーカーを着ていたのだが、目ざとい人物はそれを見逃さなかった。そしてツイッターなどで、Grundさんが彼女に会えるよう嘆願したという。

 

 

やがてGrundさんは幸運なことに、テキサス州のアーリントンで行なわれたテイラーさんのコンサートに招かれ、バックステージで直接本人と会うことができたそうだ。

 

 

テイラーさんはGrundさんが事件を通報した人物だと知っており、コンサートの後も彼と一緒に写真を撮影。その様子を彼はインスタグラムで公開している。

 

 

ちなみに今回、テイラーさんは国民に中間選挙に投票するよう呼びかけたが、この結果全国的な有権者登録の増加に加え、特に彼女が投票するテネシー州の登録件数が急増しているという。（了）

I’m writing this post about the upcoming midterm elections on November 6th, in which I’ll be voting in the state of Tennessee. In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now. I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country. I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent. I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin color, gender or who they love. Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives. Please, please educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values. For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway. So many intelligent, thoughtful, self-possessed people have turned 18 in the past two years and now have the right and privilege to make their vote count. But first you need to register, which is quick and easy to do. October 9th is the LAST DAY to register to vote in the state of TN. Go to vote.org and you can find all the info. Happy Voting! 🗳😃🌈
